Days of the Blade review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Days of the Blade for Playstation 3.
Days of the Blade is a samurai action game. It is a very pretty game, with some impressive graphics. The environments are detailed, but lack any real depth. You will smash one button over and over, killing the enemies one by one. While the game may look nice, the gameplay is disappointing.
This video review features video gameplay footage of Days of the Blade for Playstation 3 and audio commentary from Classic Game Room’s Ryan.

Kintaro is based on his appearance in Mortal Kombat 2. He keeps all his move from the game. He gains 3 new A very strong front kick, based on unused sprite he had in the second game, a new Grab and Smash technique (similar to Motaro) and a closer quarter move that consist to hit his opponent very fast with both of his arms.
Kintaro is one of the four bosses of the game and often appear before Motaro, either by himself or in endurance matches. He is incredibly cheap dues to his high damaging move and throw priority. His front kick has incredible range and will help him to trap his opponent in the corner. However, unlike in MK2, his Teleport Stomp is slower and easier to avoid.
Beating the game with Kintaro is fast and easy. However, getting flawless victories is another story. He will have a very hard time to avoid the projectile, dues to the fact that he can’t crouch and that he can still be hit while in the air. His only true way to avoid a projectile is to perform his Teleport Stomp. However, timing is key and the CPU will often have enough time to avoid it and counter you right away unless you do a frame perfect throw (which happen in the video many times). Like with Goro, a perfect run with Kintaro is more a matter of luck than skills (it all depends of the CPU’s action at the beginning of the match or the timing with his Teleport Stomp).
As a side note, this is the first game which Kintaro is playable, as it was not possible to play as him in any port of MK2.
